GallerieHare GallerieHare represents the photographs of Bob Stavers. Bob, and his wife, Judy Chovan, sought the serenity and community of San Juan Island in 2001, following Bob's retirement after 32 years as a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, an international accounting and consulting firm. Photography has been a life-long passion for Bob and the San Juan Islands offers an unusual opportunity to explore and capture beautiful and compelling pictures of the world around us. Intrigued by the interplay of objects, light and color; Bob seeks to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary images. Original images are either captured on 35mm transparency film, and the images are then scanned; or with a digital camera, creating a digital file directly. Using Photoshop, Bob makes contrast and color corrections and prepares the image for printing. Standard prints are made on Fuji Crystal Archive paper using a Lightjet 5000 printer. Giclee prints are made on satin archival paper using dye-based inks using an Hp 130 Designjet printer. All images are printed as open editions.
